Susan Hanlon (LTB '04) organized a back-to-school shopping trip on behalf of migrant children on July 17th.  Many thanks to all LTB alumni for their contributions to this activity.

Hurricane Charley

Marty Peate's family was impacted from Hurricane Charley, and when he asked for supplies to take to Arcadia, LTB friends responded quickly.  He writes:  "My wife's family, my wife, and I were overwhelmed by the response that we got from everyone.  All together we received:

  32 Rubbermaid bins
  34 boxes
  many rolls of tape
  several markers
  500 + garbage bags
  2 chainsaws
  many gallons of water
  much needed ice
  10 extra hands

In about 8 hours work we were able to clear the yard of most of the debris(except for exceptionally large trees), removed all the carpet from the second floor, and filled every Rubbermaid bin and box with fragile pieces.

The positive emotional impact that was made on my in-laws was immeasurable."

Kathryn Starkey (LTB '02) was elected to the Pasco County School Board on August 31.  She will take the seat of retiring school board member, Pam Coulter (LTB '03).
