Message from President Debra Hoffman:
I am so honored to serve you and this organization for the next year. I would like to express my gratitude to last year’s Board of Directors for their confidence in electing me president for the class of 2007. Thanks also to our past President Jim Hackman for his guidance both now and in the future. Going into its 19th year we are very excited to announce the expansion for the 2006-2007 program year. By adding more class days we are able to better focus on the concerns of the greater Tampa Bay region. In another effort to increase our commitment to our participants, we hired Alice Bessette as a full time Executive Director to implement our new initiative as well as devote more time to the array of tasks that are needed in planning each program day.
As we are well aware, the programs need to evolve as regional issues evolve; this is our challenge. With the emphasis on the neighboring four counties (Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk), we also have an opportunity to focus more on our immediate region and provide the class with more in-depth exposure to each participating counties. We are also establishing an alumni program and sponsorship committee to help support our new initiatives. We ask for alumni help to implement these new and exciting enhancements in 2007 to make LTB the premier leadership program. If you would like to serve on a committee, help plan a program, an alumni event or join other companies as a sponsor of an upcoming LTB class program, please contact Alice ASAP to be added to the list and get involved immediately.
I am looking forward to a very active year for our organization and encourage increased activity by all of you to continue to make LTB a strong and vibrant force in the Tampa Bay Region. Your role as an alumnus is to continue to recruit candidates for the program with wide regional representation. As alumni I sincerely urge you to facilitate/participate in networking opportunities that promote the regional leadership we represent.
