The Hillsborough Education Foundation is looking for caring, compassionate adults who can devote their time to a young person. Currently, college scholarships for deserving young students are being held-up because of a lack of mentors. Mentoring requires a commitment of one hour each week with a student. Mentoring sessions take place on school grounds during school hours and efforts are made to match the mentor up with a compatible student. Mentors have a chance to develop new skills, make new friends and have the satisfaction of helping a student grow their self-confidence. Students are more likely to graduate and go to college under the guidance of a mentor.
