Education Foundation

The Hillsborough Education Foundation is looking for caring, compassionate adults who can devote their time to a young person. Currently, college scholarships for deserving young students are being held-up because of a lack of mentors.  Mentoring requires a commitment of one hour each week with a student.  Mentoring sessions take place on school grounds during school hours and efforts are made  to match the mentor up with a compatible student.  Mentors have a chance to develop new skills, make new friends and have the satisfaction of helping a student grow their self-confidence. Students are more likely to graduate and go to college under the guidance of a mentor.
Becoming a mentor is easy:

  • Apply
  • Submit to a background check
  • Train

Any responsible adult who is 18 years of age or older and is willing to give one hour a week to a student can be a mentor! Contact Jonathan Maresco at (813) 574-0264 or jmaresco@educationfoundation.com
